Fiber Optic Technician

Description & Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, test, troubleshoot and repair fiber optic modules in a prototype environment.
• Extensive experience in fiber optic cleaving, splicing, and module assembly.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and learn the use of new test equipment.
• Ability to support documentation development for process transition from prototype development to manufacturing
• Perform incoming inspection on components and system level tests on assemblies.
• Familiarity with Windows-based computers.
• Perform routine maintenance of the test equipment and coordination of equipment calibration.
• Motivated, detail-oriented, organized, quick-learning individual w/ good record keeping skills.
• Ability to support electronic technician activities such as soldering and cable making (as required).
• Ability to work under direct supervision, independently or as part of a team

Education: Associate Degree

Experience: 3-5 years
