What does LIDAR stand for?

LIDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging technology, which is able to measure wind speed and direction from a remote location. Using concepts similar to Doppler radar, with light as the medium of detection, the Vindicator™ system, a patented fiber-optic based technology, senses air particle movement at distances of at least 300 meters (depending on atmospheric conditions). The system processor analyzes the air particle movement, producing speed and direction data for wind field determination

The Vindicator™ system utilizes state-of-the-art technology, which we believe is the best available for measuring wind speed and direction.
