CTW Signs Trial Program Agreement with Hélimax Energy

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Catch the Wind Ltd. (TSX-V: CTW.S), developer and manufacturer of the Vindicator® laser wind sensor (LWS) and other sensor products, announced today that it has signed a trial program agreement with Hélimax Energy Inc, an independent consulting firm specializing in utility-scale wind energy project development.

Catch the Wind and Hélimax have mutually agreed to test and compare the performance of the Vindicator® LWS with a meteorological tower. The Vindicator® system will facilitate the measurement of the wind profile at several intervals from 50 to 300 meters to accurately characterize the wind resource available to wind farm developers and operators.

“Our trial program with Hélimax, a highly respected and independent consultant, is consistent with our strategy of working with the principal players of the wind energy sector to test the performance of the Vindicator,” said Phil Rogers, President and CEO of Catch the Wind Ltd. “We believe that third-party validation of our laser wind sensing technology will result in faster market acceptance of the Vindicator as well as increased sales over the long term.”

The trial program, which will take place at a field site in Quebec, is expected to be completed by November 30, 2009.
