Catch the Wind Ltd. (TSX-V: CTW.S), developer and manufacturer of the Vindicator® laser wind sensor (LWS) and other wind sensing products, today announced that it was awarded the Washington Business Journal’s 2009 Green Business Award in the “Invention” category. The Green Business Awards honor the most promising and unique ecological business practices in the Greater Washington D.C. area.

“We are honored to be recognized among the region’s business community for our role in helping turbine operators increase efficiency to make a tangible impact on their bottom lines and, ultimately, on the environment at large,” said Phil Rogers, president and CEO of Catch the Wind. “This award reflects our strength in innovation and dedication to leading the way to a cleaner, more productive world through the use of highly efficient alternative energy sources.”

Catch the Wind was selected based on the company’s dedication to greener business. A pioneer in the wind energy industry, Catch the Wind is delivering the world’s first and only wind turbine-mounted solution that can accurately predict wind speed and direction so turbines can optimally align with the wind, producing greater wind energy efficiency. The company’s ground-breaking invention, the Vindicator® LWS system, has the potential to dramatically enhance the efficiency of wind power generation around the world.

The Washington Business Journal, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and Washington Gas recognized Catch the Wind, along with the other award winners and finalists, on October 13 at the second annual Green Business Awards Luncheon in Washington, D.C.
