Director of Business Development and Marketing
Description & Responsibilities
Catch the Wind, Inc. is seeking an experienced business development and marketing director to play a pivotal role in transitioning a unique, high tech laser wind sensor product from developmental testing and evaluation into a full scale manufacturing capacity to meet the demands of the wind industry. The primary focus will be in developing and refining business and marketing strategies for implementing this technology for specific application to targeted sectors of the wind industry.
Skills & Requirements
The applicant should be knowledgeable in understanding basic engineering principles in order to develop customer and partnership relationships that will be necessary for worldwide acceptance and integration of this technology into the marketplace.
- Developing and presenting technical and financial briefings and media presentations that will be used for marketing and sales opportunities
- Preparing trade show materials and coordinating long range schedules and company participation in worldwide events that are critical to the advancement of this technology in key wind industry sectors, as well as understanding the economic implications for financial and governmental organizations
- Traveling as required for trade show participation, customer interface, site visits, business meetings and other such events. Travel may be extensive for at least 50 percent of the time to meet customer demands during the product introduction phase.
- Participating in negotiations with customers, partners and suppliers as needed
- Periodically assessing the market trends and impact of emerging competitive products
- Timely recommendations of product changes required to stay competitive in the global marketplace

Education: BS or BA in Business Development, Marketing or related field
Experience: 5-7 years experience
