Senior Electrical Engineer
Purpose
Design and implement engineered electrical systems, products and solutions to support the technical, manufacturing and installation teams at Catch the Wind.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and test current designs to ensure reliability and performance as manufacturing progresses
- Troubleshoot and find solutions for any issues relating to manufacturing, installations or customer requirements
- Creating new designs to develop next-generation products and improve product capabilities and reliability
Required Skills and Qualifications
- B.S. or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years or more of hands-on experience with circuit board design and troubleshooting, master’s degree preferred
- Extensive experience with PCB Design Suites (Schematic, Layout, BOM, Fab, Assembly)
- Experience & familiarity with the following:
- Embedded microprocessors/microcontrollers (1MHz - 1GHz)
- FPGA Circuit Design (VHDL/Verilog Experience is a plus)
- High current actuation control
- High-speed signal routing (differential, impedance controlled, etc.)
- Communications interfaces including UART (RS232/422/485), Ethernet, SPI, I2C, USB, etc.
- Memory device interfaces (NAND, NOR, MMC/SD, SRAM, etc.)
- Power supply design
- High Speed (up to 1GHz) analog sensor interfacing
- Experience with fiber optic technologies is a plus
- Excellent practical knowledge of EE lab equipment such as DMM’s, oscilloscopes, spectrum and logic analyzers
- Experience working with software engineers for testing and verification
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a group
Additional Desired Skills:
Experience with the following is preferred, but not required:
- cPCI
- Xilinx tools
- DSP in FPGA
- PowerPC, etc.
